Yasalam 2011 closes in spectacular style as Paul brings his ‘On the Run Tour’ to Abu Dhabi on November 13th 2011.

Yasalam, the largest city-wide entertainment program ever seen by any F1™ host city; returns to the Capital for the third year jam-packed with fun and exciting new events a multitude of family activities, and the chance to experience all the glitz and glamour of the superstar acts preparing to perform in Abu Dhabi.  

The season finale of Yasalam will see Paul McCartney wrap up the spectacular three-night after-race concert series on Yas Island.   The concert weekend kicks-off with pop princess Britney Spears while American rock band Incubus and British hard rock band The Cult will perform on the second night. Paul arrived in Abu Dhabi yesterday to kick off his ‘On The Run’ tour with his first ever show in U.A.E at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. But before there was music, Paul took some time to visit Saturday’s F1 qualifying session. Paul cheered on the British drivers from the McLaren garage before the great and the good of motor racing descended on him hoping to get a picture with rock’s most revered idol.

Paul’s ‘On The Run’ show tonight is the closing event of Yasalam 2011, a city wide entertainment program that brings a mix of sports, films, music and community events to residents and visitors in Abu Dhabi around the Grand Prix. Paul’s hugely anticipated live show is the perfect end to the celebrations, and is the hot ticket with the Formula 1 drivers and celebrities in Abu Dhabi for the big race.

McCartney played a joyous set of hits spanning his more than 50-year career and turned the arena into a stadium-sized karaoke club.

Paul McCartney performed his first concert in the United Arab Emirates. For this show, there was no VIP experiences, so set list for the soundcheck remains unknown.

The day before Paul and his wife Nancy watched the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Grand Prix. The concert was the last event in three nights of Formula 1 weekend events, which also saw performances by Britney Spears, Incubus and The Cult.
