From paulmccartney.com, November 26, 2011:

After the enormous success of Paul’s show at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the new leg of the ‘On The Run’ tour has arrived in Italy this weekend for two more hugely anticipated live shows. Today, Paul will play the Unipol Arena in Bologna in his first ever show in the city. It will also be his first concert in Italy since his now legendary performance outside the Coliseum in Rome in May 2003 which attracted over 500,000 people. Tomorrow, Paul will play the Mediolanum Forum in Milan, the first time he pas played in Milan since 1993 when he performed two concerts as part of his ‘New World Tour’. Excitement is already at fever pitch in Bologna. Crowds have been camped outside Paul’s hotel for days. The media has gone Macca mad too, Paul’s songs are all over the radio and posters are displayed all across town. Italy’s biggest newspaper La Republicca already featured Paul on their front cover several times this week. This morning the Italian newspaper front pages and TV breakfast news shows reported on the scenes of Macca-mania outside the hotel. The city of Bologna is ready to rock.

From paulmccartney.com, November 30, 2011:

The Italian press equally matched the enthusiasm of the audiences. ‘Paul McCartney, the King of Music gave us a memorable night.  It was a historical night for the town of Bologna.  Every detail of the show was perfect, Paul had everything under control all night’, reported La Repubblica.’  L’Unita exclaimed, ‘The miraculous music of Sir Paul. He made us laugh, cry, smile and scream.  His concert united people of all ages and backgrounds.  The magical mystery tour of Paul McCartney is a journey that will never end, he is the conductor of our dreams’.  Corriere Della Sera said, ‘There was 50 years of rock n’ roll history onstage as Paul performed the world’s most loved and famous songs’.
