[Paul McCartney] started the month [of August] ending the first leg of the amazing all-new ‘On The Run’ tour in The Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati. In his time, there can’t be many signs held up in the audience that Paul hasn’t seen before but this concert was notable for one that stood out from the rest. A man sat a few rows from the stage holding up a sign saying ‘Paul, sign my wife’, while his wife next to him held up a notice saying – you guessed it – ‘I’m the wife – sign me’. Well, Paul hates to disappoint his fans as we all know, so he duly brought the couple up onto stage during the encore to sign his name and the words ‘Let it be’ on the woman’s shoulder. You could say they were suitably chuffed: after the show, they headed straight to a tattoo parlour to make the words permanent! Now that’s devotion.

Unfortunately, we weren’t present for most of the soundcheck but two songs stand out in my memory:(I Want to) Come Home, heard as we walked over the bridge after checking into our hotel in Covington, Kentucky just over the River. Best of all, Bluebird, from Band on the Run. Having missed the 1976 Concerts due to college exams, this was a highlight. Of course, the concert itself was superb and it was nice to finally hear Junior’s Farm live.

I was there. I grew up with the Beatles and I’ve never seen McCartney. That night, though I felt like I was at Shea Stadium and 65. He played almost 3 hours and amazing show.

I was hoping you had a better sound check set list. I do remember that he came out in jeans. The one song I remember that he sang that I did not expect was C-Moon. They played for 1.5 hours to about 100 or less of us. I don't think they played anything that they played in the 3.5 hour concert shortly after the sound check. Of course he was dressed better for the concert 😊
This was my third time to see him in concert but my first time as a VIP to attend the sound check.
I still have and wear the t-shirt from the event. We were seated in about the 20th row, well centered. The entire event was extraordinary. Bravo Paul and all....
