Paul will perform for Teenage Cancer Trust on Thursday 29 March. […] Teenage Cancer Trust’s longstanding patron and The Who front man, Roger Daltrey CBE, has been the driving force behind these concerts for over a decade. Roger said, “Every year my team and I work really hard to make these concerts for Teenage Cancer Trust something special. This year is no exception and the line up of artists donating their time and talent is incredible, I hope there’s something for everyone.
I’m proud to be a patron of Teenage Cancer Trust. I’ve been involved for nearly 20 years, and this is the twelfth year we’ve staged these shows. I might be a rock star, but I’m also a dad. I know teenagers aren’t children, and they’re certainly not quite adults either. They’re a group all on their own and they need to be recognized as that. The work Teenage Cancer Trust does building hospitals wards that don’t feel like hospitals and bringing these young people with cancer together is invaluable. So to all parents out there, these are your teenagers, support this charity.”
Eleven years of concerts have raised over £14 million for Teenage Cancer Trust, making a real difference to the lives of thousands of young people with cancer. All money raised has helped the charity to build more specialist teenage cancer units in NHS hospitals across the UK, allowing young people to be treated together with others their own age, in an environment suited to their needs.

Teenage Cancer Trust is a cancer care and support charity in the UK that exists to improve the cancer experience of young people aged 13–24. Founded in 1990, the charity’s key service is providing specialist teenage units in NHS hospitals. It also trains and funds staff who are teenage cancer specialists. The units are dedicated areas for teenage and young adult patients, who are involved in their concept and creation. Medical facilities on the units are equipped with computers, TVs and game consoles. The charity also serves as an advocate for teenage cancer needs, promoting related research and national and international forums. It also provides support services and education related to teenage and young adult cancer.
Sir Paul has been brilliant. We almost got him last year but he couldn’t make the date work. He said, “I’ll be there for you next year, Rog”. He did a few extra shows in Europe to make it work so no one had to foot the bill of getting his show here – and that means a lot.

The regal surroundings of London’s Royal Albert Hall were rocked to their core last night (on their 141st birthday) as Paul McCartney put on a show to remember in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust. After the audience was moved by footage of some extraordinarily brave people, Paul was determined to give a performance to raise further funds for the charity. The audience was in for an extra special treat seeing Paul in a venue far smaller and more intimate than the arenas he played earlier this month and he duly delivered an unforgettable set list packed with classic hits. It was Paul’s first performance at the Royal Albert Hall since George Harrison’s tribute concert in 2002. As an extra special treat for the audience Paul was joined on stage for ‘Get Back’ by Ronnie Wood, Paul Weller and Roger Daltrey.
On October 11, 2020, Teenage Cancer Trust streamed five songs from this concert for free on YouTube.
This was the 11th concert played at Royal Albert Hall.
