This was the seventh concert of the 2025 US leg of the “Got Back” tour, and Paul McCartney’s first concert in Tulsa since May 2013 and his “Out There” Tour.
From TulsaWorld, October 23, 2025:
[…] McCartney made his BOK Center debut in 2009 and he returned for two shows (on consecutive nights) in 2013. Having seen one of his performances 12 year ago, and without benefit of total recall, here’s the difference between then and now. In 2013, the show was a glorious walk through his (and the Beatles’) catalog. In 2025, the show was a glorious walk through his history.
Images of his former mates in the Beatles sometimes were splashed onto video screens. (Dilemma: Should I focus my attention on the retro images or should I take full advantage of the moment by watching a living legend perform?) At times, thanks to the images on the video screens, it was almost as if McCartney was performing with them. He gave shout-outs to music industry friends who are no longer with us, including his Beatles pals.
Time marches on, but you wouldn’t know it from McCartney’s ability to stand (or sometimes sit at a piano) and deliver a blockbuster concert at age 83. The set list was circa three dozen songs and the show clocked in at just under three hours.
McCartney’s first words to the crowd: “Well, hello Tulsa! Oklahoma! Why do I have a feeling we’re going to have fun in this place tonight?” […]
Lighthearted moments in the show included McCartney pausing to read aloud signs held up by attendees. He didn’t read this one, but a fan with a second row floor seat held up a sign that simply read “Thank You.”
That pretty much covers it. Thanks for the performance — and the history.

From Paul McCartney | News | Penned on the Run: ‘GOT BACK’ Tour Diary 2025 Part 2:
With landmarks such as the Bob Dylan museum, the Woody Guthrie Center, the 100+ year-old Cain’s Ballroom and Leon Russell’s Church Studio, Tulsa has long stood as one of America’s capital cities of musical history. The week that Paul stopped in for his first BOK Center performance in 12 years and third engagement overall (the first being on the Summer 2009 tour, the more recent two-night stand having taken place in 2013), however, Tulsa was a rock and roll epicenter for a night — sighted backstage were The Edge and Bono of U2 (in town to accept the Woody Guthrie Honour at the aforementioned Cain’s Ballroom the night before), as well as Grammy and Oscar winning couple T-Bone Burnett and Callie Khouri.
But there was a bit of news that made a huge splash earlier in the day: Paul surprised Tulsans and fans the world over with a self-shot dispatch from the banks of the Arkansas River that flows through the city. Posted up on a beautiful sunny afternoon under a graffiti-adorned bridge, and featuring a surprise cameo from a local butterfly, Paul’s spontaneous vlogging foray shared an authentic moment of Zen with all who viewed it, while ramping up local anticipation for the evening’s show to even further heights.

From News9, October 22, 2025:
When Sir Paul McCartney announced his return to Tulsa, it wasn’t the band The Lonelys who came up with the idea to welcome him. Instead, it was their friend and collaborator, Tulsa poet Hoop.
Hoop, whose poetry inspired The Lonelys’ latest album, wanted McCartney to hear their newest songs. To help his friends get noticed, he bought billboard and radio ads across Tulsa.
“Mr. Hoop said, ‘Paul McCartney’s coming,’” band member Donovan Fite said. “‘You guys love him. Let’s see if we can get his attention,’ and Hoop’s kind enough to purchase the billboard ads and just everything else because he cares about the music.”
Fite and Jason Swanson formed The Lonelys in 2009 after meeting in college. […] Swanson and Fite both refer to McCartney as “the greatest musician of all time.” Swanson says it would be a dream come true for their idol to listen to their music.
“I don’t know if it’s going to work, but basically we got billboards and ads up just to get Paul McCartney’s attention,” Swanson said. “I don’t know if he will see it or not. It would be awesome if he did. So we will see. Maybe he will give it a listen.“

This was the 4th concert played at BOK Center.
A total of 4 concerts have been played there • 2009 • Aug 17 • 2013 • May 29 • May 30 • 2025 • Oct 22
