This concert was the first date of a short 3-dates-only European leg of the “Out There” tour. It was also Paul McCartney’s first ever gig in Poland.

From paulmccartney.com, March 20, 2013:

First 2013 live dates announced with more to follow in the coming weeks

22nd June: Warsaw,Poland – National Stadium
27th June: Vienna, Austria – Happel Stadium

Paul has announced his first live dates of 2013, which will be part of an all new tour called ‘Out There!’. The tour will see Paul and his band travel the world throughout the year, even visiting some places they’ve never been before. Further announcements and dates will be added in the coming weeks. Stay tuned to PaulMcCartney.com for updates and ticket details.

Following this morning’s announcement that music’s leading man will play at Warsaw’s National Stadium this June – his first ever show in Poland – Paul has also confirmed he’ll perform at Vienna’s Happel Stadium. This date will be Paul’s fourth ever show in the Austrian capital, having first played there twenty years ago as part of the 1993 ‘New World Tour’. His last visit was in 2003 on the ‘Back In The World’ Tour.

During the soundcheck, Paul McCartney and his band recorded a new video for the fans coming to see his gig at the Happel Stadium in Vienna.

From Maccaboard (paulmccartney.com):

Just back from Warsaw, where to start, well left London Stansted yesterday morning, also got chatting to a few people who were also seeing Paul. Arrived to a temperature of 26 degrees, it sure was hot! Got to the stadium just after 5pm and joined the queue, Paul was still soundchecking, heard him do Whole Lotta Shakin, Things we said Today and Two of Us before I found the place to collect my ticket. Was sat in block B5 not a bad seat tbh was sat next to a guy from Finland who was just a tad over excited at the prospect of the concert!! Anyway Paul came on just after 9pm, fantastic show, highlights for me Eight Days a Week, Listen to what the man said, We Can Work It out, Lovely Rita, Another Day and Your Mother Should Know. The Crowd really loved Mrs Vandebilt and Ob la di, but it was a bit muted during Mr Kite. As Cfergoid mentioned about the Hey Paul signs that we all held up, you could see Paul was touched by that. Only minor point was that it would have been nice to hear something else instead of IJSAF. Next stop Vienna
